This society feels that sexuality equity has been achieved in sport, the socially constructed normality of gender stereotypes is still frequent even in today's society. As being a woman in sport, society has created the fact that women's capabilities are lower than those of males. Through this essay, I will argue how gender stereotypes of women and society's targets of myself as a feminine have adversely affected my personal enjoyment of volant. Society's deeply rooted sociable image of girls is that our company is weak and unable to generate results which are similar to males; this opinion has made hard to enjoy badminton as I are constantly evaluated purely because of my sexuality. Although society's opinions of girls in sport have improved over time, we have a long way to look from attaining true sexuality equity. A large number of will continue to suffer from male or female stereotypes providing we do not replace the ways we think about gender ideology.
I have privately felt the discrimination of gender stereotypes from my personal time within the high school volant team. I first joined up with the team in grade nine as the sole female within my age department. At that time, my own skills were nowhere near the males for the team, and I was shortly labelled while the weakest member of the team. It was a frustrating experience to know that my staff mates did not see me personally as an equal, primarily because of my sexuality. They had previously expected my own skills to be less than theirs, and when their initial objectives were confirmed, they revealed no surprise. It absolutely was clear that my physical strengths lacked greatly compared to the males around the team, so I focused on the technical facet of badminton to be able to improve.
